The Sadducee in Me

What Now? A Study in Acts (Pt. 10)
Surprised by God? (Acts 4:1-22)
July 10-16, 2011

PRAY
Before you begin reading, reflecting, discussing, and applying, begin by opening your heart up to our Savior and Lord.  Praise Him and ask Him to incline your heart to His.   Invite Him to search your heart and make Himself known.

STUDY
Read Acts 4 & Luke 20:9-19.  Continue to read Acts to get more comfortable with this part of our history.  We encourage you to make time to sit down and read all of Acts in one sitting at some point... the context of everything really hits home then.

DISCUSS
Who were the Sadducees and why were they so opposed to the Good News of Jesus?  What about your life looks similar to the Sadducees?  When was the last time you suffered or were persecuted because of where Jesus lead you?  What is comforting and inspiring about the people that Jesus chose to be His disciples (read 1 Cor. 18-31 for context on this question)?

LIVE
Ask the Father to continue to fill you with His Holy Spirit.   Take time this week to evaluate your focus and follow Jesus into your workplace, family, and neighbourhood.  Be ready and open for lots of opportunities to die to self.
